Puget Sound Regional Passenger-Only Ferry Study:
- Developing a long-range plan for regional passenger-only ferry service and capital investment in the Puget Sound region.
- Creating a policy, governance and evaluation framework for regional foot ferry service
- Creating design guidance for the development of ferry terminals and water transit-oriented development
- Managing a 40-person Project Advisory Committee, including facilitation of stakeholder issues and development and delivery of group presentations
Washington State Ferries Operational Strategies Assessment:
- Evaluating operational strategies that will shift demand to non-drive-on modes and/or shift vehicle travel demand to off-peak times
- Developing tools to maximize existing WSF ferry system assets, and improve efficient and effective operation within each unique terminal, route and travel shed.
Seattle Urban Mobility Plan:
- Developing the official “surface street and transit improvement” option for the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Project with a multidisciplinary team
- Organized and helped lead a multi-day interagency stakeholder visioning and project framing workshop
- Designing performance monitoring and evaluation criteria, conducting travel pattern analyses for Seattle’s Center City, and travel demand modeling
- Developing transportation demand management strategies—including non-motorized design elements—to increase non-SOV mode share accessing downtown
- Producing public materials on effectiveness and application of TDM, non-motorized transportation, and transportation-efficient develop for reducing Center City SOV travel demand
Strategic Advisor, 2006 - 2007
- Managed the Southeast Seattle Transportation Study which developed a 25-year transportation plan for the most diverse area of the city
- Developed policy solutions and advised city leadership on climate change, road pricing, and transportation demand management strategies
- Integrated transportation demand management policies and bicycle and pedestrian design elements into capital projects, such as Colman Dock redevelopment and Alaskan Way Viaduct replacement project
- Collaborated with Seattle’s Office of Sustainability and Environment to develop and launch the Climate Change Action Plan and develop performance monitoring measures
- Teamed with state, regional and local transportation agencies to develop regional congestion pricing strategies, which have since been partially funded through Federal Highway Administration’s Urban Partnership Program
- Served as liaison between community members and SDOT engineers
to develop and implement solutions to neighborhood transportation

- Developed the transit, bicycle and pedestrian components of the adopted award-winning long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Destination 2030
- Secured grant funding for and coordinated twelve regional Walkable Community workshops to address bicycle and pedestrian safety problems and demonstrate transit, bicycle and pedestrian-friendly urban design
- Project managed and authored the adopted Regional Bicycle Pedestrian Implementation Strategy
