- City of Michigan City, Indiana: Evaluated Michigan City's existing Municipal Coach network and developed three service alternatives based on varying funding levels and capital improvements.
- City of Santa Rosa, California: Developed short-term recommendations for system improvement and prepared a long-term service plan that maintained existing coverage goals while streamlining service in high-demand corridors. The service plan also recommended extended night service and more consistent and predictable interlined service.
- City of Greeley, Colorado: Served as the lead service planner and developed five conceptual service alternatives with varying funding levels and service goals. The five service alternatives were then refined and presented to the City Council and members of the public for review. Two alternatives were finalized and presented to the city and included in the final plan.
- Yolo County, California: Served as the Deputy Project Manager for two Short Range Transit Plans - one for the Yolo County Transportation District (Yolobus) and one for the City of Davis and Unitrans. For Davis, developed a series of packages that could be implemented depending on financial capability and community support. For Yolobus, developed a 5-7 year service plan for each distinct community in the county.
- City of Chico, California: Project manager for detailed review of the CATS system to determine the feasibility of operating a more intensive shuttle service in Chico's "inner ring" corridor. Managed a complete data collection of the existing system, met with key stakeholders, conducted a review of "peer" cities, and developed a series of alternatives to meet the needs of the community.
- City of San Rafael, California: Deputy Project Manger for a shuttle feasibility study in downtown San Rafael. Performed detailed fieldwork, conducted an employer survey, developed maps of land use, transit and major employer, and issued an existing conditions report. Also conducted an employee focus group meeting and developed four scenarios of conceptual shuttle services based on varying funding levels.
- Omnitrans (San Bernardino, California): Project associate responsible for data analysis, field work, service planning and development of Omnitrans' 5- and 10-Year Short Range Transit Plan.
- Foothill Transit Agency (West Covina, California): Associate planner on a five-member team responsible for a major fixed route restructuring
Transit Planner, 2003 - 2004
- Transit Service Evaluations and Demand Estimation: Evaluated existing transit services and recommended service alternatives for several transit agencies and municipalities including SouthWest Metro Transit, Scott County Transit and the City of Ramsey. Utilized geographic and regional travel behavior data to enhance analysis and analysis presentation. Collected extensive Journey to Work data and developed demand estimates for commute and local transit services. Developed conceptual shuttle routes, schedules and cost estimates for new development at a future commuter rail station. Conducted focus groups and presented analyses and recommendations to various policymakers.
Planner IV, 1998-1999
- Major project: liaison to the City of Austin Design Commission.
- Complete design, photography and layout of the Downtown Austin Design Guidelines as requested by the Austin City Council;
- Arrangement and attendance of meetings with the Design Commission;
- Wrote text and created maps which were instrumental to the development of the Design Guidelines;
- Conducted research and gave presentations to the Design Commission. - Other duties within the department included: development of graphic material and editorial support for many department-related projects; expansion and maintenance of database and map of new and planned projects in downtown Austin; graphic and computer instruction and support within the department.
