  • Manage a 5-year, $500,000 grant from the New York State Department of Health to develop a City-wide strategy with senior citizens and the disabled community to make streets safer for their use.
  • Manage a small staff to direct community outreach and planning projects in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx.
  • Assist community groups/boards with land use and transportation concerns and alternative proposals and communication with City Agencies.
Transportation Consultant
2003-2004
  • Facilitated intersection redesign projects in New York, New Jersey, and Maryland for City and State transportation engineers, constituents, and elected officials with Michael King Architect of Brooklyn, NY.
  • Completed intersection redesign drawings, draft reports, and final reports for clients.
NYC Department of City Planning, Transportation Division, New York, NY
Highway Transportation Specialist, 2000- 2002
  • Managed Federally-funded projects to create greenways and bicycle and pedestrian facilities throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
  • Met with community groups, City Agencies and elected officials to create master plans for pedestrian and bicycle projects throughout New York City.
  • Presented plans and work to community groups and the City Planning Commission.
  • Managed a small staff of City Planners and interns to complete plans.

Eight years of planning experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors of New York City. Developed the first program to address senior pedestrian concerns in New York City. Extensive bicycle and pedestrian master planning experience as well as pedestrian advocacy work
